About

I am passionate about the politics of finance and the finance of politics.  I’ve been on my soap box for many years, and finally after seeing the glazed look in the eyes of family and friends, I decided to seek another audience. I was and still am horrified that our elected officials did not respond to the 99% of calls and letters from Americans saying NO bailout to the financial institutions. I am in shock that no legislation has been put back into place to stop the pillaging. I’m good at synthesizing information in a way that makes complicated topics easy to understand. I’ve been a day trader, a non-profit fundraiser and community activist. I’ve participated in the last two economic bubbles of 2000 and 2008. I’ve made lots of money and lost lots of money. And I have lots to say! When I’m not obsessed with the financial markets and craziness of how we operate a democracy these days, I love taking my dogs out for walks, improv theater and listening to dreams, both the day and night ones.

    Hi Karla,
What a name! The Anti-Karl Rove.
I’m a religion and philosophy nut, so your references to Catholic doctrine re: women’s value in Western Christian theology resonate with me. I would suggest that Eastern Christian theology has a similar bent. It is a small world and getting smaller. Don’t forget the great East–West Schism.
Wishing you the best of the “net”, a wide audience and much influence. You GO!

Hi Jenny, thanks for your feed back, its nice to be the feminine counter part to Karl. I completely agree with you about the similarity in the Eastern Christian theology as well. As far as I can tell, ALL organized religions seem to be based in misogynistic doctrine. Unfortunately, my readers seem to handle about 600 words or so, and this blog was almost 1100, so I decided just to stick to what is happening here. And how weird is that, the land of the free, where women had had the vote for 92 years, we fight all over the world for democracy and freedom, and yet we still have so far to go in our own country. The genesis of oppression comes from the Bible, but I do not think many people are aware of just how oppressive the bible really is.Thanks for your encouragement!
